Bedford L.  Hatmaker
Bedford L. Hatmaker passed away at his home Friday morning, May 20, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1922 and recently celebrated his 94th birthday with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carden and Nevada Hatmaker; brother Beecher Hatmaker; and sister Una Luallen. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Daisy Vowell Hatmaker; sons David Hatmaker of Lake City and Doug Hatmaker with special friend, Shelby Haun, of Clinton. Surviving siblings are Earl Hatmaker of Berkley, Michigan; Lonnie and Johanna Hatmaker of Dallas, Georgia; Rondel and Frankie Hatmaker of Pooler, Georgia; Mazada Lovely and Wilma McMillan, both of Lake City. Grandchildren Brian Hatmaker and wife, Mary of Clinton; DeAnna Hurd of Knoxville; Brennan Jones of Knoxville; and Jason Jones of Chattanooga. Great- grandsons Stone and Luke Hatmaker. Bedford was retired from TVA and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Along with being a small business owner in Lake City, he proudly served his community in a variety of ways such as the Campbell County Planning Commission, Lake City City Council, and North Anderson County Water Department. Bedford’s true passion was Oak Grove Baptist Church and the adjoining cemetery, where he served as trustee of business and maintenance operations. He loved spending time working in the garden and enjoyed harvesting and sharing the fruits and vegetables he grew with family and friends.

Funeral Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 22, 2016 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lane and Rev. Kenneth Seeber officiating.
Graveside Service: Family and Friends will meet at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, Tennessee.
