Obituary for Stella Mae Forester

Stella Forester, age 94, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Brookdale, Oak Ridge, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who enjoyed gardening, sewing and living simply. Her gentle, sweet spirit and wonderful smile will be missed forever.
Preceded in death by parents, Herman and Matilda Johnson; husband Charlie Forester; sisters, Grace Kohus, Delphia Lindsay; and Brother Lee Johnson. Survived by children: Eunice Turner and husband Gene of Bellbrook, Ohio; Lois Hall and husband Bill of Richmond, Kentucky; Bill Forester and wife Evelyn of Richmond, Kentucky, and Evelyn Jackson and husband Joe of Knoxville; grandchildren, Ed Turner and wife Vickie of Bellbrook, Ohio; Chris Turner and wife Jackie of Thompsons Station, Tennessee; Scott Hall and wife Liz of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; Jenny Smith and Husband David of Richmond, Kentucky; Jody Jackson and wife Mary of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Jamie Jackson and wife Tanya of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Sam, and Elizabeth Turner; Brittany Bauer, Chelsea and Taylor Hall, Paige Curtner; and Isabella and Liam Jackson; great-great-grandchildren, Aubree; sister Christine Sheppard of Litchfield, Illinois.
“God saw she was getting tired, a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered ‘come with me.’ With tearful eyes we watched her fade away, although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.” A special thank you to Brookdale Assisted Living for all The love care and compassion they provided our mother.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, Friday November 25, 2016 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City, TN, and will meet at 2:00pm for grave side service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lake City with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Tennessee in her memory.
